In de 12de eeuw wordt er al gesproken over een kerk op deze plaats, gebouwd door de graven van Carew. De huidige kerk stamt uit de 17de eeuw. Lawrenny is en gehuchtje aan de Daugleddau delta waar de Carew river en de Creswell river elkaar ontmoeten en in de Daugleddau stromen. Dit is een getijde delta waar de invloed van eb en vloed nog ver landinwaarts is te zien.

673. Church of Lawrenny:

As early as the 12th century there was already mention of this church being build by the counts of Carew. The present church however stems from the 17th century. Lawrenny is a little hamlet situated near the Daugleddau delta where the Carew river and the Creswell river meet eachother and stream into the Daugleddau. This is a typical tidal delta where the influence of high and low tide is still visible far inland.
