Te vinden op zure humusrijke grond die onderhevig aan de weersinvloeden. Te vinden op hoogten van 1500 - 3000m. Je kunt deze planten dan ook op rotsgraten aantreffen hoog in de bergen. Zijn verspreidingsgebied beperkt zich tot Scandinavië, IJsland en de alpen.

Kenmerken:

Behoort tot de heide familie. Deze planten vormen een tapijt en in de bloeitijd ziet zo'n tapijt roze van bloemetjes. De plant is enkele centimeters hoog en is daardoor goed bestand tegen de weersinvloeden.

Habitat:

Can be found on acidic foodrich soils which are exposed to the weather. The hight it thrives at varies from 1500 - 3000 meters. This means this plant is predominantly found on rockledges highup in the mountains. It's homerange is limited to Scandinavia, Iceland and The Alps.

Characteristics:

Is a member of the heather family. These plants form a kind of carpet and in the floweringseason it is covered in small pink flowers. This plant only grows upto a hight of 2 cm which makes it very resistant to bad weather.
